In the course I am taking right now we started an assignment called the Passion Project. It's a project where we begin to research ideas and plans for your future. The past few years when people would ask me what I want to do when I'm older, I usually respond by saying it's too early to decide, but now I'm coming realize that it's about time I start thinking about where I see myself in the future. Personally right now I am not 100% what I want to do when I'm older but something a long the lines of engineering and design, this semester I took a drafting course, where we are learning all about Auto-Cad and other floor-plan programs. It was interesting because it is something I can see myself doing through university.
As far as university goes, I know the University of Waterloo has one of the best engineering programs across Canada, it's very competitive to get in so I'm going to work hard to get accepted. Certainly if I don't get in it's fine because although it's a great school, I've always wanted to leave the area for school, go somewhere not so close to home. University of Toronto and Carleton are my other options that I am considering.
This project was somewhat challenging for me as I've only recently sparked an interest in engineering. I still have about a year and a half before I start applying for university so for now I'm going to research as much as I can about what specifically want to do. I hope to maintain to a good average as getting into a good engineering school is quite competitive.
